 All Hail ATI's former Software and cards. The Software is King of them all... February 21, 2010

I own an ATI all in wonder card, I waited to write a review until I was able to get mine, to work in my downgraded PC. In case mine was not functional after being out of my old computer for so long. I wanted a chance to get one before others scrambled to if they read this review. They only make a few models that are supported for vista, and mine is not one of them.
I will tell you all now, that as far as I have seen, Nowhere can you find Software that does what the ATI HDTV and, all in wonder for XP/Vista Software will do.
wonder pro, and HDTV Wonder, have the software that allows you to record from the time you turn the TV on until the time you shut it off and everything in between. It Does Not Start from where you just turn the channel too, and wont let you go back.
So what ever you say about the cards the software is KING of them all.
I have no pay channels so i do not need a box we get a few basic channels free here including local stuff. Your situation may be different but mine is to my liking, for all intents and purposes.
You may want to remind, ATI that there Software is the best and Please, bring it back for the new cards. Because it is what separates them from the rest.

Misanthropy
I bought this in hopes that i would be able to hook it up to my pc and play console games... it worked!.... sortof. The card is apparently too slow. Press jump, jump a second later. So i unplugged my system and then i plugged the cable in. It was kindof blurry. Not terribly, but enough to dissapoint me even more. I expected far better from ati...

I had one of the first ATI Radian All In Wonder combo cards and thought that it was ok. It captured video and display TV and video games in a lack luster way. I decided that the next PC that I built for myself would have a dedicated video card and a separate capture / TV tuner. Thinking that would dedicate gaming performance to the video card and the multimedia to a separate card. Good concept, but the TV Wonder Pro is truly a wonder as to why anyone would buy this. The video is very grainy and the audio is never in sync with the video (between 5 and 10 seconds delay). I am currently running this card in disgust on my P4ht 3.2GHz with 1.5G of RAM and XP Pro SP2 with an ATI PCIe 700Pro Video Card. The TV Wonder Pro has a minimum hardware and software requirements less than half of what I am using (Pentium 2, Windows 98se). So why is the performance so bad?
I have just down loaded the newest drivers/software for this card and ran into a situation where the install prompted me for the original disk and would not recognize it. So I could not install that utility. I have been building my own pc's since 1990 and am certified to fix and build systems. ATI over the past 10 years has done nothing to improve the install and upgrade process for these types of products and it is not a trivial under taking for even a professional. I believe I have bought my last ATI product because of the cost, lack of performance and lack of support.

DON"T BUY IF:
--You want to record from your VCR/Camcorder
--You want it to work with Windows Media Center
--You want to make personal vids with the recorded data
I purchased this product at Best Buy, expecting excellent results after a brillant review by one of those Geek Squad personnel. I should have known, he is a salesman, hence the sale. This product was a pain to install, the software took forever and even then it didn't run smoothly.
There is little to no documentation to help set it up. Once it was finally set up the TV listings and recording features were activated -- sketchy at best. Out of the 3 programed one recorded. What is up with that?! The picture/sound quality is decent, and I do like the picture-in-picture capability. HOWEVER, the more programs you have running the larger in time delay there is between the sound and picture, NOT GOOD>
On top of everything, the whole reason we purchased this card was to use our Windows Media Center "My TV" setting. Turns out Windows doesn't even recognize this product, AT ALL. I tried saving the video and opening it in WMC to manipulate the data... NADA. I called costomer service and checked out the website, this product is DISCONTINUED. So it's so going back!
The only reason I gave it a star, is because you can watch tv... take pictures, and record --but only in this products software.
